Tan Sri Kong is an Independent Non-Executive Director. In addition to his role of bringing a public perspective to the board, he is the chairman of the Nomination Committee and a member of each of the Audit Committee, Remuneration Committee and Risk Committee of the Board.

Tan Sri Kong is primarily responsible for supervising and providing independent advice to the Board.

Background
Tan Sri Kong graduated from the University of Malaya, Malaysia in 1974 with a Bachelor of Science and completed the science, technology, and innovation policy executive education programme at the Harvard Kennedy School of Governance, the US in 2006. Tan Sri Kong has years of experience in public service having served in various government positions since 2009. Tan Sri Kong was the Minister of Housing and Local Government in Malaysia from 2009 to 2010 and held office as Minister of Transport from 2010 to 2013. In February 2014, Tan Sri Kong was appointed the deputy chairman of InvestPerak, the Investment Council of the state of Perak.
